05-10-99 - Carhop reunion - From 1940 - 1948 the "First McDonald's" sold Barbeque ribs and beef and pork sandwiches.  They also had 20 carhops serving customers. Fifty years has passed but I sure got my "Kicks" when I met these wonderful folks from the early McDonalds.  This was a local media event.  We've got photos from the 40's and the carhops today.   A link will be added here to those photos soon.

04-01-99 - California Historic Route 66 Association - The facility has recently become "home" to the California Historic Route 66 Association.  The Association has put, on permanent display in the museum, the "Mojave 66" photo exhibit which was built in the 1970s by the California State Historical Society and restored in 1994 by the Association.  Other Route 66 displays will soon join the McDonalds displays.  The museum makes for a fun new kitschy stop on Route 66.
